Entering it’s 20th year, and a juried film festival featuring more than 100 local, regional, national and international films, held in April each year.

An opportunity for filmmakers to win recognition. From second-graders to professionals, filmmakers have the chance to show their work to real audiences and to compete in their respective categories. More than $200,000 in cash and prizes have been awarded since 1997.

A chance to meet and learn from successful filmmakers who come to Kansas City to judge the FilmFest entries and speak. Throughout its history, Kansas City FilmFest has brought in more than 200 top filmmakers from around the world to share their work and insights.

The host of several special events, including Crosscut: Women Making Movies; CinemaJAZZ; and Reel Spirit, a children’s filmmaking competition.
